Barrie Rutter reads Armitage's King Arthur
Kings Hall 7.30–8.30pm
Barrie Rutter, Founder and Artistic Director of Northern Broadsides and ex-National Theatre actor, gives an unmissable reading of Simon Armitage’s new version of a rousing ancient tale, the medieval epic, The Death of King Arthur. In a sweeping, muscular text roaring to be read aloud, Arthur is a ‘brassed-off, Carlisle-based warrior, enraged by being asked to pay taxes to Rome’.
