Let me tell you a story ...

When my elder daughter was born 24 years ago, the little lass was a very poor feeder, wind causing much discomfort for her and anguish for us, her mam and dad. Like all newly born problems it settled down and peaceful sleep and rest was enjoyed by all three. Four months later, Christmas morning 1982, I received a fairy tale called The Girl Who Swallowed the Wind, written by Carol, Bryony's mum, which told the story of the frustration and anger of the animals - Oxley the Rook, Muscovy Duck, Foxy Gentleman and Tivy the sheepdog - as their precious wind was taken from them. Who was the culprit? What's the punishment? Four disparate creatures joined by a need to restore the natural world.
Two years ago, artist and wit Chris Vine read the story, illustrated it and the hardback, first edition is now on sale, a perfect and beautiful gift for children of all ages.
