Jos is the designated DJ in the dressing room. He picks songs everyone kind of likes.
Jackie Naylor & Jos & have started doing pre-show dance to La Bamba. They sometimes persuade me to join in too!
Jess designer on For Love or Money isn’t with us anymore. She’s a lovely person to have in the green room. Always up for a good natter. She’s starts designing the set for Captive Queen Barrie’s last Northern Broadsides show which is on at the Sam Wanamaker playhouse at the Globe next year!
Lucy has done a fabulous job with costumes too.
‘Northern Voices in Classical plays in Non Velvet spaces’
It’s a shame we are moving out of the Viaduct. There’s something quite magical about it. There are brand new theatres with comfy seats but there’s something raw. Atmospheric. I don’t know the exact words. It’s not easy trying to describe it. But if you’ve been to the Viaduct, you know what I mean. You’re there in the thick of it. If it’s raining you can hear the rain. Transfixed.
We move to West Yorkshire Playhouse next week. We have been performing at the Viaduct which is traverse. West Yorkshire playhouse is in pros – end on. So we were looking at our blocking on Friday.

Dress Rehearsals of Othello by William Shakespeare
Directed by Barrie Rutter
Conrad Nelson as Iago
Richard Standing as Cassio
I’m quite excited to play at the West Yorkshire playhouse as I’ve never performed there AND this is the place I first saw a Northern Broadsides production. Othello. Which was also the show which made me want to work with Broadsides. I spoke with Richard Standing who was playing Cassio and told him I wanted to be an actor when I was older. I have since worked with him on my first Broadsides show with Hull Truck on Richard III. Feel like it’s a bit of a full circle.
